The Magic of Marrakech Retreat

This will now be my 4th retreat to this magical destination, I have enjoyed exploring new properties and new locations over the last few years and this new find also fills me with excitement.  Our retreat property this year is located only a short 20-minute drive from the centre of Marrakech.  Set in an oasis of tranquillity and calm in beautifully landscaped gardens with ample shady terraces for you to escape from the world for just a few days and listen to the birds and peacocks.  It also has a heated pool along with a mini spa and hammam on offer throughout this retreat.  Each ensuite room has its own character, but they all have one thing in common – a seductive mix of soft colours and rich Moroccan textiles which have been described as ‘lusciousness and luxury combined” - my concern is that it’s going to be a challenge getting everyone out of them!

Whilst I have outlined an itinerary below which combines a mix of well-being, exploration, fun and deliciousness, please keep in mind that everything is optional, there may also be some minor final adjustments to this itinerary depending on what I book for us in the Medina, however, this will give you a flavour of what to expect - final itinerary and timings will be communicated to retreaters nearer the time.  This retreat is almost all-inclusive, for some winter wunderlusting read on and turn a dream into a plan, I hope you will love it as much as I do:

Friday 12th April 2024

Complimentary transfers to meet flights landing between 08.45 and 9.30 and between 15.00 and 15.30.

Welcome introductions - light lunch and relax by the pool while we wait for our rooms to be ready.

Check-in is at  15.00 - Unpack, take a deep breath, let your shoulders drop and take a stroll around the beautiful gardens to help you ease into things, or why not treat yourself to a traditional hammam, to exfoliate your skin and increase blood flow giving your skin a healthy glow a wonderful way to start the retreat.

Early evening we'll enjoy our first yoga class, incorporating a series of restorative sequences and postures to help us release and stretch aching muscles and bring us to a place of inner stillness

Post-yoga G&T followed by supper

Saturday 13th April 2024

Rejuvenating morning yoga session with the intention of focusing on what you need right now.

Slow breakfast – journaling to engage all our senses.

Light lunch.

Afternoon at your leisure to swim; write; read; paint/sketch; explore the grounds or simply stretch out on the sunbed and sleep.

Late afternoon - Transfers to the Medina to explore the souks and enjoy supper out, to get a taste of local life.  (Dinner out at own cost).

Sunday 14th April

Uplifting yoga session incorporating breathwork and meditation.

Slow Breakfast followed by a welling session on the ‘power of letting go’.

Time to roll up our sleeves and don our aprons for a traditional Moroccan cooking workshop, always a fun shared experience.

Enjoy a magical Cacao ceremony followed by a relaxing Yoga Nidra practice

Supper in the Villa.

Monday 15th April

Final reflective yoga session followed by a slow relaxed breakfast/brunch.

Enjoy a last dip in the pool, finish that last chapter and think about some adjustments you can potentially make to life as you know it back home, hopefully returning feeling a little more relaxed, nourished and re-energised!

Check-out and complimentary transfers back to the airport.

What’s the Cost?

3 nights at £850 pp based on 2 ladies sharing an ensuite twin room and £1,150 for single occupancy en-suite room in a double bed.  Please note, sorry to state the obvious, but if you book a ‘sharing room’ you will need to find someone to share with you.

What’s Included:

Airport transfers to match flights detailed below.  Accommodation in either a private or twin ensuite room; welcome drinks and gin tasting; 3 breakfasts, 3 light lunches and 2 evening meals; 3 yoga classes; water and soft drinks; mid-morning and afternoon snacks; cooking workshop; transfers in and out of the Medina.

What’s Not Included:

Your flights, along with any extra drinks and treatments taken at the Villa, 1 supper out in the Medina and lunch on the last day.

Flights:

Marrakech is a popular tourist destination, so flights are frequent from many UK airports.  Most of us are flying on Friday 12th April departing @ 06.00 from Gatwick on the EZY8705 and landing in Marrakech @ 08.45 - I know this is super early, but this maximises our time on retreat.  Some of us are returning on the BA2813 on Monday 15th April @ 18.25 from Marrakech - landing into Gatwick @ 22.00 and some are on the EZY8708 also landing back into Gatwick - departing @ 19.05 landing at 22.40.  Complimentary transfers have been scheduled around these flight times.  If you'd prefer to book different flights, that's also more than fine, however, you will need to pay for your own transfers, which I can help coordinate for you.

How Can I Secure My Place and Payment Terms & Conditions:

A deposit of £300 non-refundable, is required to secure your booking, with the full balance to be paid by 15th March 2024.

Cancellations:  Whilst we wish to treat cancellations sympathetically, spaces are limited and the following charge must apply. Cancellation of your trip for whatever reason, should be notified to us directly in writing.  Full Payments: For places paid in full and then cancelled the following applies: - More than twelve weeks before the start of the retreat: 100% refund minus the deposit; eight-twelve weeks before the start of the retreat: 50% refund minus the deposit.- Less than eight weeks before the start of the retreat no refund can be given.

Travel Insurance:  Please ensure you have your own travel insurance which would cover you financially not only for unforeseen events that may occur whilst on the retreat, but also in the event of your needing to cancel.

Instalments:  If you’d like to send payments in instalments to keep this retreat viable for you, that’s absolutely fine, a number of ladies also do this so just drop me a line at hello@ginandyinretreats.com and we'll work on a plan.
