October's News

Oh October – even with a veil of rain you still look resplendent with your flaming locks of red and gold dressed in your gown of rich mosses … and ... mushrooms …. Don’t give up your day job I hear you cry!  Honestly, though, my lawn is full of mushrooms, I’m sure they weren’t there last year? – or was I truly that unobservant?!

-

Dodgy poetry aside, what have you taken notice of this month?  We managed a ‘whatever the weather wild walk’ last weekend which with a 13-year-old in tow was an achievement, although I’d describe it as part walk, part gallop to get back home again but hey ho, I'm grateful we ventured out together.

It's fair to say winter is now well and truly upon us, as such, I've been seeking out all my ‘soft’ things – from bed-socks to extra throws, to locating my oversized fluffy dressing gown, which typically only lasts 15 minutes before I start overheating – oh the joys … I guess that’s an age thing?!  On the note of getting older, these days I really do appreciate the good stuff, super soft natural fibers like bamboo, merino wool and cashmere (socks that is) … Talking of gorgeous yarns, I’d like to give a shout out to a couple of lovely ethical British brands, one is called ‘Flock by Nature’ www.flockbynature.co.uk they offer a complimentary repair service too, how good is that and 'Turtle Doves' www.turtledoves.co.uk use post-consumer textile waste to create beautiful new garments & accessories - one 'C' pressie already bagged I couldn't help myself.  I’ve also invested in a few more plants to bring nature in during the darker months - I'm hoping my brain will thank me www.patch.com these guys are excellent.  The only thing I now need ... would like? is a beautiful deep earthenware bowl, or oversized mug to sip soup from and dip my toast into …  ahh .... snuggle, sip and savour whatever the weather that's what I say x

So, what have I been up to lately?

Firstly, love this photo taken of some of the ladies who went on the hike on my 'Restorative Mountain Retreat' last month - photo credit to the lovely Vicki Knights @vkpersonalbranding -  "it speaks a thousand words" someone commented on my Insta account which was lovely to read - Full photo gallery from that retreat is now on my FB page.  Anyways, back to the here and now - I’ve been busy checking out cosy UK retreat spaces for long weekends and 1 Day Retreats, I just need to put my creative thinking cap on and pull some itineraries together and get them out there now - watch this space.  I’ve also got a super busy November ahead, working with some awesome people and brands ... speaking of which ...

What's up next?

Gin Sipping & CBD Social for the Curious - Thurs 7th Nov 2019

Mews of Mayfair, London

7.30pm - 10pm (bar open until late)

Over half of the tickets have now sold for this event yeay - I appreciate this one is a little left field, however, I'm always curious about enhancing my own wellbeing and after noticing a growing presence of CBD stands at some of the big wellness shows, I wanted to learn more about it.  What better way than to organise a social, with a twist.  Collaborating with Gin & Interiors; OTO CBD; Hayman's Gin and Cocktail Circus - seriously with these guys on board, it really is going to be awesome.

-

What's included:  A Welcome G&T

An Intro to CBD - A second full sized G&T (with or without CBD bitters) & Canapés.  Plus for a bit of added fun, Hayman's will be running a 'blind-tasting' session with their new 'Small Gin' packed with flavour but with a low ABV - will you be able to tell the difference?  It would be wonderful to see you there.

-

Tickets - £22 (incl. booking fee)

Tickets limited to 45 (over 18's only)

Where do I book?

 - LOOKING AHEAD -

As the cold sets in and one pot wonders are in our thoughts - I have 8 spaces left on my 'Winter-Warmer Supper Club' - Thursday 14th Nov at 'The Retreat Kitchen, Richmond.

The evenings are always fun and informative - Tickets are £35.00 and include a welcome G&T (or 2), a 3 course plant-based supper, recipe ideas and tips on how to make healthy choices over the winter to keep us and our families well and warm.

Full details on my website.

Oh and I know it's getting dark outside, but to lighten things up a little check out my 'Down to Earth Retreat' to Northern Ibiza from 11th - 14th June 2020 - half full already, but I do have space for 7 more ladies (3 twins and 1 single occ).  It promises to be another wonderful adventure.  £150 secures your space and you can pay by DD too - based on sharing an ensuite twin this would be £66pp per month.

In the meantime, stay safe, seek soft things and share the gin!  Dreadful thought I know you, but kindness is key.
