October Newsletter

Updated: May 31, 2019

As the leaves change to palettes of flame and gold and my heating kicks in to keep out the cold... no, sadly nothing else rhymes, I'm quietly confident that a new season is almost upon us, which I'm personally ready for.  In our house, there's talk of trick or treating costumes; casserole requests, boiler MOT-ing and chimney sweeping, among other things - needs must.

So, what's been happening at Gin & Yin HQ (aka my spare bedroom) since I last emailed?  Well, I hosted my first 'Supper Club with a Purpose' last week on: 'How to introduce more plant-based meals into family life' and what a lovely night it was too.  We ate delicious healthy food at 'The Retreat Kitchen' in Richmond, we enjoyed trying a brand new straight out of the distillery Gin from Sherlock & Sons - we took home some recipes and generally felt inspired and had fun to boot - if eating more plant-based meals is good enough for 'The Great British Bake Off' it's good enough for Gin & Yin (I've recorded it!).  To see some photos from the evening, go to the 'Gin & Yin' Facebook page -  Thanks to everyone who came along.

New Year - New View - New Mindset - New Start

A Soulshine Retreat to Goa - 10th - 17th Jan 2019

I've also been busy finalising the itinerary for my 'Review & Renew' New Year Retreat to Southern Goa.  At first, I was worried that it would be a leap too far for my new business, but now that I've finalised everything, whilst I still have 3 beach bungalows to fill (4 ladies booked so far - max of 10), I'm feeling incredibly excited and happy that I've made the right decision.  This is an opportunity to take care of yourself and invest in your own wellness for a few days at a slower pace to the one we're living right now.  As always on my Retreats, ladies can dip in and out of as much or as little of the itinerary as they like, there is no obligation to do it all.  The price of £950pp (shared occupancy) and £1,100 (single occupancy) includes almost everything .. transfers to and from the airport; all meals taken at Bamboo Yoga Retreat; 6 yoga classes (for all levels) in an oceanfront shala; a guided barefoot beach walk; a stand up paddleboarding lesson (fun and yoga in one.. or at least we'll try the yoga); a sunrise dolphin boat trip; sundowners and live music at a local beach shack; mini wellness workshops; a retreat goodie bag as well as time built in to shop, relax and unwind of course.  What's not included are the return flights to Goa (approx. £500); an authentic Goan cookery class; treatments (which are extremely reasonable vs. UK prices) and watersport activities.  To whet your wanderlust appetite take a look at this YouTube clip (you might need to copy and paste it):

You can see why Conde Naste Traveller Mag voted Bamboo as one of India's best yoga retreats in India - if you know anyone who you think would enjoy joining me, I would be extremely grateful if you can help me spread the word - Click on the 'Learn More' link below for the full itinerary x
