FACT - You're never too old to write your name with a sparkler in the cold night air or toast marshmallows on an open fire, or dance in front of the mirror for that matter!

Whilst I love winter, I also start to feel a little overwhelmed as a small forest of tantalising gift books and festive magazines start to reach chin height by my front door - whoever said print is dead?!  In addition to dealing with day to day life, mixing the improbable with the sometimes impossible, while I don't know when or where to start, I do know that stuff will get done and that most women I know are gin-iuses (sorry couldn’t resist) when it comes to what they achieve in the run-up to Christmas, some also have an extraordinary talent for not only coping, but rising to the occasion too – I’m not sure why we do this to ourselves, but we do and that’s that – not that we have any choice in the matter either really do we?

Take in the pleasant photo below and breathe x

With this in mind, I wanted to share a few tips on ‘coping well’ and hopefully making time for yourself along the way too, so here goes:

Armchair Present Surfing:  Nice ideas here from Sheerluxe - I try and support the little independent shops too -

Gifting with heart:  Receiving something homemade is special, so if you can make something and you have the time then do it, it doesn't have to be perfect, in fact that's what makes it special - my mum is knitting us all hats this year and they look really great, I wish I was remotely crafty!  You can also get little baubles and fill them with your favourite gin and gift them - I like the look of 'Boozy Baubles' on Amazon £15 for 6

Tunes to keep you uplifted:  If you need a boost, listen to 'Chef Soundtrack - El Jefe' - if you haven't watched the film, it's a goodie too

Food for the soul:  Here's a lovely winter warmer thanks to Waitrose (and my mate Sally) - super easy to make, great served with a hunk .... (of crusty bread of course) ....

Hot Gin Punch:  Join us a No. 97 on Monday 26th Nov to get a great recipe to make for friends and family, also take home a gin themed goodie bag - book here:  - we will also be making quirky garnishes, present tags too, so that's my crafty fix albeit guided!    If you have any great tips to share, please email me at  -  I'm all ears and elfs xx

Plus, something for you....

I am also collaborating with Cara at Gin & Interiors and Sam & Alex at No. 97 in Surbiton for an evening of:
