It’s official! - it’s leg-bearing season, stock up on ice and get your slices at the ready! Whether you're relaxing with your feet in the paddling pool, or enjoying a cocktail in the garden with your face to the sun, the forecast is bright on various levels, which has to be worth raising a glass to in my opinion, so cheers to that!
Any excuse do I hear you say?
While I’m at it, I’d also like to raise a glass to all you lovely people for sticking with me on my Gin & Yin journey so far, as a small business, it really means a lot to me. To show my appreciation, I’d like to offer you 2 things in return:
1. If you refer someone on to my retreats and they book - yippee for me and yippee for you, you will be sent a hand-selected Gin & Yin ‘Retreat@Home’ package, which will contain a measure of two of gin and a shot of wellness, just make sure you tell the person to let me know they came through you.
2. Secondly, if you book on as a ‘repeat retreater’ yourself - you’ll receive an extra special lovely gift in your goodie bag when you arrive, which will help you relax just that little bit more while you’re there x
So, tell me, how have things been? .... For me, I’m still v. grateful for home deliveries (gin; food; flowers and gin .. oh did I say gin already?). Spotify (Caro Emerald for keeping me company in the kitchen and The Work Out Mixes for running), the weather (note to self - must - not - moan - it’s – too - hot!). Also, still v. grateful for the v. large seat on my bike and to the technology for keeping me connected. I could of course go on and mention family, friends, good health, etc, but I'm sure you know that already.
I don’t know about you, but I seem to have been busier than ever this month, all ‘productive’?? hmm… maybe not, but definitely busy. As more and more clever people take their products and services online, I have been lured into everything and anything that sounds remotely interesting; fun; edible or worth having a go at. I have been keeping my exercise up too, purely to make room for my favourite things … Thomas J. Fudge’s Decadent (no less) Dark Chocolate Florentines, Haagen Dazs (sorry to my pal Karen at Unilever if she's reading this, she’s a serious Magnum expert!) and G&Ts … one mustn’t forget the importance of solid R&D … well someone’s got to do it?!
I’ve also made some lovely new virtual connections during this time too - one, in particular, has led to an IG Live tonight (Thurs 25th June at 6pm) with Jacqui Larrson. Jacqui is an independent jeweller, which are as rare as hen’s teeth these days and award-winning diamond specialist and gemmologist. We’ll be talking cocktails and cocktail rings among other things, I can’t wait. If you’ve got something interesting you’d like to share with me on an IG Live drop me a line - it doesn’t have to be polished, most of us are all winging it - ‘Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway’ as Susan Jeffers would say, it’s all about having a go.
What's New at Gin & Yin HQ??
On the retreats front, what can I say … I go from super excited to utterly deflated and worried if I'm doing the right thing - information is changing daily and whilst Spain’s borders are now open again for my Sept and Oct Retreats, as I type there is still a 14-day quarantine period in place when you return to the UK, which is something I desperately hope will be lifted come September, but we’ll have to wait and see - everyone's safety and wellbeing is of course my priority too, so what will be, will be. I do have 5 spaces left on each retreat at the moment, however, let’s see how things shape up. I’ve had lots of interest and once we’re given the green light I’m hopeful that the last few spaces will go - forever the optimist! I am excited about Retreats for 2021 though, more on these next month.
