And just like that … poof …. after weeks of prep and purchasing and a flurry of festive engagements, who’s cooking what and who’s already eaten what (teenagers!), is it time for ‘the season to believe in’ to be carefully tissue wrapped for another year??? Or is the season for believing still very much alive? Before January comes knocking, go and get one of those nice notepads off your shelf (or am I the only one that collects nice notepads?? hmm.. ) pop another chocolate orange slice in and write down all that you have achieved/overcome this year and how much believing in your own ability, purpose and values has played its part. There will always be the naysayers and doubters and that’s before our own self-doubt creeps in – I remember someone saying to me, ‘Ruth it’s not starting your own business that’s the most challenging thing – it’s keeping it going that’s the hardest part’ and how true they were. When I reflect back on this year, I’ve had my own self-doubts that’s for sure as hot gin punch, but I’ve also believed in myself just enough too - I’m super proud of Gin & Yin's first full year and without wanting to get overly mushy, I have been humbled by companies and individuals happy to collaborate with me and by ladies booking onto my retreats and events without even meeting me, just believing that they'd be the perfect tonic for them. Thanks also to the continued support of my family, friends and friends of friends, who come along to whatever collaboration or retreat comes along next and that means the world to me, thank you all from the bottom of my gin glass x So, savor the moment betwixt and between and enjoy it - reflect and appreciate … and yes that’s self-appreciation too - never stop believing in yourself, there is no time for indecision. Thanks also to a wonderful book called ‘Simple Abundance’ by Sarah Ban Breathnach for the inspiration for this month's newsletter – I bought her book about 20 odd years ago and I still love it, I hope you have a book by your bedside like this too x
What have I been up to lately?
As November was such a busy month for Gin & Yin, I left December clear for networking (aka sipping gin cocktails) and strategic forward planning, oh and the small matter of Xmas prep – I must, however, confess that I got utterly woo-ed by all things colorful, fizzy and sparkly plus we also hosted a wee pre-Xmas party, so very little planning was achieved other than in my head! I did, however, meet some lovely new collaborators in all things ‘gin and yin’ for 2020 – with several meetings lined up in Jan & Feb, which I’m excited about. Talking of future collabs, here I am with the lovely Emma from @stylingyouwell just before Xmas, watch this space people x
So, What's up next?
'Down to Earth' Restorative Retreat Thurs 11th - Sun 14th June 2020
I can't quite believe it, but I now only have 1 double room (private ensuite) left on this retreat. If you've never been to Northern Ibiza before, it has a wonderful wellness vibe, with a stunning coastline, but still close enough for us to get to the Old Town - All yoga abilities welcome including total newbies. Join us for daily yoga + great food from the garden + a wild mountain sunset hike + supper on the beach + mini wellness discussions + R&R built in + G&Ts (well of course) = a lovely retreat wouldn't you say?
£150 deposit secures this room
'Mountain Retreat' Thurs 17th - Sun 20th Sept 2020
Shanti-Som in the mountains of Marbella is a very special place, you really do feel you've been transported to Indonesia when you're only a hop and a skip from Malaga airport. The yoga teachers here are wonderful with their own distinctive styles, the food is utterly delicious, the rooms all have en-suites and the view from the top of the mountain is amazing - Why not get something in your diary to look forward to in 2020 - positive anticipation is a great energiser - you can also set up a monthly DD if that would make it more viable. Any questions please just shout.
Well That's a Wrap Folks!
Cheers & Happy Everything
Whether you're staying in and snuggling up, or donning your glad rags and painting the town red this New Year - let us welcome in all the opportunities for a G&T in 2020, who knows where it might lead us. Looking forward to sharing more events and adventures
with you all in January!
Thanks to @vkpersonalbranding
for this shot x
